Autopoiesis is a biological term used to describe how living organisms are self-sustaining and self-regenerating systems.
In other words, autopoiesis refers to the ability of living organisms to maintain and renew themselves through self-organizing processes.

Examples
Some examples of autopoietic systems on 3 different levels of existence, include:
- Cells: Cells are the basic unit of life and are capable of self-replication and self-repair.
- Ecosystems: Ecosystems are self-regulating systems that rely on interactions between living and non-living components to maintain balance.
- Social systems: Social systems, such as families, communities, and organizations, are made up of interconnected individuals who work together to maintain and adapt to changing conditions.
Overall, autopoiesis highlights the remarkable ability of living systems to maintain themselves and adapt to changing environments through self-organization and self-regulation.
