Is Quantum Theory just a theory?

Quantum Theory is much more than just a theory in the everyday sense of the word. In science, a theory is a well-substantiated explanation of natural phenomena, supposedly supported by extensive evidence and experimentation.
Quantum Theory is one of the most successful and widely accepted theories in physics, describing how matter and energy behave at atomic and subatomic scales.

Unlike classical physics, which offers predictable outcomes based on Newton’s laws, Quantum Theory introduces concepts like wave-particle duality (where light and matter exhibit both particle-like and wave-like properties) and quantum entanglement (where particles become mysteriously linked, even across vast distances). These phenomena have been observed and tested repeatedly through experiments like the double-slit experiment and studies on quantum superposition.

Furthermore, Quantum Theory has real-world applications in technologies like semiconductors, lasers, and quantum computers—things that wouldn’t exist if the principles of quantum mechanics weren’t valid.

So, while 'theory' might suggest uncertainty in casual conversation, in scientific terms, Quantum Theory is a fundamental framework that shapes modern physics and technology. Pretty mind-blowing, right?
