Site Navigation
On this page you will find several Navigational structures to find your way around in the entire website.
This website is designed to be viewed in a web browser on a computer. You can also view it on a tablet or smartphone. To make optimal use of all built-in features and multimedia effects, we recommend visiting the site and its various sections in a web browser on a PC, laptop, or tablet. On a smartphone, the information density and controls (text, menus, links) are too cluttered to get a clear overview of all storylines and extensive functions.
The Book (in division 1) is build up in a hierarchical way. It consists of 'Parts' (pt), that contain 'Topics' (tp), which contain 'Chapters' (ch). Under certain circumstances, the abbreviations are used, such as the shortening of URLs.
Navigation methods
Menus
At the top of every webpage, you will find the horizontal drop down menu that brings you to the homepages of the divisions and their subpages (such as book-parts).
On the left you will find specific standing vertical menus that vary with the web page you are currently on, for example: menu per book-Part or per Topic.
Unfortunately, on a smartphone screen, menus are pushed to the bottom of the screen.
Breadcrumb Trail
In the top-center of every page you can see a so called 'Breadcrumb Trail' starting with the words 'You are here'. Thus, you can follow how deep into the story you have arrived, when reading a certain book-page. For example: on the level of a book-Part, or Topic-level, or Chapter-level. By clicking on a specific level-link, you can go one or two or three levels back (up-chunking).
Search function
Furthermore, you can also use the Search input-field (top right) to find specific subjects by keyword or text fragment.
Categories
A Category is metadata about parts and pages in the book.
You may navigate through the Book via the many (sub)categories, although using a menu is the preferred way. (There are small differences between Menus and Categories.)
Clicking on a Category-link will bring you to the relevant category-page (metadata) showing the hierarchical order of story structure.
If you click the blue ' Go Back ' button on that category page, you will return to the previous reading page (the page you came from) in the same browser tab.
Please note: a Forum-category is not the same as a Book-category.
Tags
You could even use the All Tags List menu, or the blue Tag labels at the bottom, to find more information about an important concept.
In the Book, the Tag-functionality is used as a kind of glossary for essential terms in the WCG-doctrine.
Clicking on a Tag-link will show the relevant tag-page in the same browser-tab.
In that Tag-page: clicking on the blue ' Go Back ' button wil send you back to the previous page (where you came from) in the same browser-tab.
Hyperlinks
Of course, the good old blue text-links (with URLs) are a direct way to go to a specific webpage.
Scope
There are 3 types of link situations where a hyperlink will take you:
'Go to' means: the web browser wil open a new webpage in the same browser-tab. 'Go to' is used for internal pages within one 'division'.
'Jump to' means: the web browser wil open a new webpage in a second tab. 'Jump to' is used for internal pages when changing division, for example from Book (division 1) to Forum (division 2). The browser will also open another tab when you jump from page-content (story) to page-category (metadata).
'Surf to' means: the web browser wil open a new webpage in another tab. 'Surf to' is used for opening web pages outside our domain, for example: a reference to an external knowledge source on the Internet.
Pagination
Book chapters may contain '<Previous' or 'Next>' buttons at the bottom, in the order of the reading sequence of book-pages (articles).
In stead of the words 'Previous' or 'Next' you will see the title of the previous page or next page in that specific chapter.
The page-title includes the English abbreviations for 'Part.Topic.Chapter', for examle: 'pt02.tpB.ch02 Page 01-Biochemical Theories on Life's Origin >'.
Many pages have Top▲ and Bottom▼ buttons. These keep you on the same page.
Zero-page
The beginning of every book Part will start with a zero-page for a 'Part'. The first page in any Part has the suffix: ~Opening .
The beginning of every book Topic will start with a zero-page for a 'Topic'. The first page in any Topic has the suffix: ~Overview .
And the beginning of every book Chapter will start with a zero-page for a 'Chapter'. The first page in any Chapter has the suffix: .begin .
Zero-pages are marked with a 0 or 00. They contain hyperlinks to the next page, one book-level deeper. This only applies to the first part, topic or chapter, to help you get started. For example: from Part 1 you can click on a hyperlink at the end of the article to go to Topic A. There you can click at the end, on a link to go to Chapter 1. (But the best way to navigate is to use the menus on the left. On a smartphone, these menus are displayed at the bottom of the screen. )
Ninety Nine-page
Currently, the pages marked 99 form the end-page of a topic or chapter.
Therefore, the 99th page has an arbitrary number and will receive its final number once the topic or chapter is fully completed.
The last page in any book Part has the suffix: ~Closing .
The last page in any book Topic has the suffix: ~Completion .
The last page in any book Chapter has the suffix: .end .
Navigation Back to Previous Page
Some pages do not have Previous / Next buttons.
On your PC-keyboard: press 'Alt+Left arrow' to return to the Previous webpage in this site (where you came from).
Some pages (such as Tag-pages and Category-pages) might have an extra ' Go Back ' button with the same function: Return to previous page in the same browser-tab.
Translation
In the top-right corner of each page you will find a translation listbox (dropdown) that is based on Google Translation functionality.
Here are some tips on how to use it:
- You can choose between only 9 languages. (Please email us if you need another language.)
- International English is the default language.
