Double Dot Awareness

I will return to the two dark dots for a moment. Read this romantic short story about two young people seeking love:

"The young man entered the room and looked around hopefully. Many people were walking around, including several beautiful young women.
He automatically looked for beautiful faces and hoped that a woman would look at him too. In the cacophony of sounds and sights, he suddenly saw a flash of two dark dots. He instinctively recognized that a woman was looking at him and smiled slyly at her. The first contact was made, and his hope was awakened to find a path to love."

When two people look at each other, an awareness of each other's essence arises. Conscious Awareness is the first step in communication. Both parties have certain interests and desires. For these, they seek confirmation and satisfaction from the other.
In the timeline of evolutionary development, sexual reproduction will strengthen all genetic traits that lead to better attentiveness, more sexual attraction, and effective reproduction. That process has a self-reinforcing effect over thousands of years, from generation to generation. This tendency applies especially to the first steps in reproductive-oriented contact.

As mentioned in the previous paragraph (about Entoptic Forms), the 'Two Dot Awareness' functionality has been built in over hundreds of thousands of years of evolution. It is built into the genetic coding of neural design of our neuronal circuits of visual perception (in the eye and brain). Compare brain with computer: from blueprint to hardware to firmware to software.

The ‘two dots’ represent the eyes of someone else. We quickly recognize two dots in the multitude of visual signals around us that bombard our eyes.
This has a strong intrinsic sexual selection value: people who wish to reproduce have a heightened awareness of the gaze of a potential reproductive partner. If you are a man, you would want to take advantage of the situational opportunity when a woman looks at you.

If a young, single woman looks at you and smiles at the same time, even from afar, that could possibly mean that she is interested in you, or that she is open to rapprochement.
Perhaps she wants to love, marry, and bear children with the man who manages to capture her attention. Thus, neural circuits of visual perception that recognize the first glance of the eyes (two dots) will have an advantage in reproduction to the next generation (their children). This embedded visual ability strengthens its own chance of genetic reproduction from generation to generation. This is how the genetic trait (GAP) of FAPs are also reproduced.
