Memory Acquisition Patterns
MAPs
MAPs stands for:
• 'Mental Awareness Patterns', or
• ‘Memory Attentional Programs’, or
• ‘Mental Awareness Properties’, or
• ‘Mnemonic Acquisition Programs’, or
• ‘Memory Awareness Patterns’, or
• ‘Memory Acquisition Patterns’.
MAP refers to the acquisition of internal mental image patterns in our memory received through external attention and awareness formation.
Certain patterns that we perceive with our eyes stand out more than the surrounding visual noise.
Short-term memory forms an important functional part of our Attention and Awareness. In our short-term memory a visual representation of the outer world emerges, held by neuronal circuits of our brain. Neuronal circuits (confer: software) thrive on top of neural networks (confer: hardware).
This process happens because the intrinsic capacity of our brain cells in neural circuits is (genetically) well prepared for seeing specific shapes. The synaptic cooperation between millions of brain cells ensures that we can better receive and retain specific lines and shapes in our direct visual memory. Neuronal nerve circuits are primarily activated by certain lines, patterns, and movements that we observe.
These physically established perceptual properties begin within the eye itself. These nerve properties become stronger in the back of our head, where we become aware of what we see. Scientists have -long ago- discovered visual brain regions in the back of our head (visual cortex in the occipital lobe). These regions are specialized in detecting specific lines and shapes well, especially when those figures move in a particular direction in front of our eyes. Consequently, we can simply see certain patterns better than other figures.

Memory Retention
a) Short-term memory consists of a 'software'-based neuronal retention of visual information (internal image).
b) This visual representation resides in thousands of hardware-based neural networks.
c) The neural networks are activated by millions of hardwired, collaborating brain cells (through nerves and synapses).
Summary
The internal perception of certain lines and specific shapes are better observed than other structures in our field of vision.
The mental retention of these shapes and even gestalts are therefore an intrinsic, physical property of the nervous system at the fundamental neural level and also at the basic neuronal level.
Observations of certain attractive facial features are easily stored in memory (MAP). We become aware of these patterns and experience them as aspects of visual beauty (FAP).
